On 5 February 2022, Genealogy Station volunteer Angelo Coniglio helped Mindy identify several previously unknown collateral relatives born in the early 1900's, siblings of her great grandfather Giuseppe Pilato.

The indices of births for the City of Palermo, Palermo Province, Sicilia , were located on line on the familysearch.org site of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS, 'Mormon').
 

Also on 5 February 2022, using the on-line Italian government Antenati (Ancestors) site, Angelo Coniglio helped David extend his direct lineage, 'growing' his family tree back two more  generations, with the 1850 birth record of his great-great grandfather Luciano Saladino, from the town of Roccapalumba in Palermo Province, Sicilia . 

The record on the left gives the names and ages of Luciano's parents Gaetano Saladino and Nunzia Bongiorno.  From that information we were able to also find Nunzia's 1824 birth record, on the right, which identifies her parents as  Antonino Bongiorno and Serafina Coniglio!

Because Joseph has visited Italy and acquired many records from the towns' Anagrafe (Civil Registry Office), we were able to compare the records acquired from the comune with their handwritten copies that were sent to the Tribunale (regional magistrate) and then to the provincial archives, where they were eventually microfilmed by volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) and are now available on-line.

Found: His grandmother's 1898 passenger manifest, which confirmed that her given name was Loreta (loh-RAY-tuh), not the Americanized "Loretta", and that she was born in about 1893 in Montemaggiore Belsito, Palermo province,  Sicilia . The 1893 index of births shows that the Atto di Nascita (Record of Birth) for Loreta Ricotta was at number 253, and that record indicates that she was born on 24 November 1893 to Antonino Ricotta (son of the living Angelo) and his wife Providdenza Ippolito (daughter of the living Antonino).
