       The name Carmela is a form of the Hebrew name 'Carmel', meaning 'garden' or 'paradise'.  Millie was named after our grandmother Carmela Calabrese.  Appropriately, she was baptized at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church.  Israel's Mount Carmel, shown below, is called in Hebrew Har ha Karmell (literally, God's vineyard).
