Tom was the first vendor at Buffalo's renovated Commercial Slip in May, 2008. This is in the old "Canal Street/Dante Place" district. In 1921-1925, his grandfather Gaetano, grandmother Rosa Alessi, his uncles Guy, Ray, Leonard and Phil, and his aunt Millie lived about four blocks away at the no longer extant 18 Peacock Street.
