We started going to Cape Cod in 1974, when Hank and Judy Shanahan Suhr invited us to stay with them and their daughters Leigh and Sharon.  We stayed in Bass River, at the cottage of Hank's sister Dottie and her husband Barney Foltman.
We loved it so much, we went back every year for many years, renting from Dottie's neighbors Joe and Terry Leddy.  We made friends with the Leddy's, and with the Foltman kids, Ursula and Barney Junior, and with Hank's uncle Gus.  We went some years with other relatives, and longtime friends.
Family crises kept us away for years, but then Angie and I returned in 2002 with Maria and Danny Valint, and their boys DJ, Tim and Bailey.  And in 2010, Angie and I returned for the Fourth of July weekend.
The watercolor above shows the Bass River as it looks from the shore at West Dennis, a favorite place for mucking around the marsh-bottom for shells and other treasures of the sea.  The photos below span many years.  More will be added soon.
